Dom's associates are Miles' former students, who Dom requires as he has given up being the dream architect for reasons he won't disclose. Dom's primary associate, Arthur, believes it has something to do with Dom's deceased wife, Mal, who often figures prominently and violently in those dreams, or Dom's want to "go home" (get back to his own reality, which includes two young children). Dom's work is generally in corporate espionage. As the subjects don't want the information to get into the wrong hands, the clients have zero tolerance for failure. Dom is also a wanted man, as many of his past subjects have learned what Dom has done to them. One of those subjects, Mr. Saito, offers Dom a job he can't refuse: to take the concept one step further into inception, namely planting thoughts into the subject's dreams without them knowing. Only his latest case is not as simple, instead of taking an idea, he must implant one; however Cobb is a man whose own sub-conscience is in disarray as his dead wife threatens to destroy him.
I thought originally when I watched the trailer. I've seen this somewhere before?
And then as I watched the film it hit me... 'Paprika. Paprika is a anime were a therapist enters the minds of patients to distinguish the problem.
I am not saying that the film is a complete copy, because its ever, the complexity of the film is quite confusing at times, even for a life long sci-fi fan; I guess that was the allure when you consider the many, many positive and glowing reviews. I enjoyed some of the action sequences, but it did not really keep me on the edge of my seat. Cillian Murphy and Ken Wattanbe, were the true stars in my opinion, they played their roles very well, while Leonardo DiCaprio was one dimensional, even though he was supposed to be the most complex and intriguing character in the film.

Without going into spoiler mode I'll just say I expected the effects to have more meaning than they did and I expected them to be used better. The acting was good, the plot understandable in a single viewing if you pay attention but it seems like it's trying too hard to be complex/dynamic/intricate. It may make you laugh out loud at how silly some of the logic is as it twists upon itself and changes but again I won't go into specifics - you'll see. Worth a download? Sure, you might love it as many seem to (over 9 score at this time. that or someone figured out how to game the IMDb rating system.
